As you would expect, autumn is a fantastic time for fungi and the woodland area in particular has very large numbers of mushrooms

I am not very good at identifying fungi, which is why there is only a small selection of the fungi identified below.

I have sometimes repeated a comment from my reference book, about whether a particular fungus is OK to eat - I know it is obvious, but I do have to say, DO NOT RELY ON MY COMMENTS ON THIS POINT. NEVER EAT MUSHROOMS THAT YOU ARE NOT COMPLETELY SURE ARE SAFE !
