Along with the Ash, the Sycamore is one of the two trees that are too prevalent in the reserve and we are actively thinning them out.
I appear not to have taken any usable photos of Sycamore trees, so I need to go and rectify that. The first example below was taken by Owain Shaw - a young man employed under the Future Jobs Fund scheme in November 2010. Thanks Owain - some brilliant photos. The second one shows a carpet of dead leaves on the ground spotted on 30 July 2012 - July ! Autumn comes early for the Sycamore! The one at the bottom right is of some leaves shortly after they have burst from the bud.
